My work is an observation of the world around me through the simplification or distortion of every day objects.  The every day objects that appear in my work are primarily food.  Food plays a big role in my life, and the life of every creature on the planet, as it is a primary need and necessary for our survival.   Through my artwork I use this physiological need to explore other less essential wants and needs of life, and their importance to humanity.

Meg Swearman is a multidisciplinary artist who lives in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh with her partner, and their pet parrot.  Meg is a native of Westmoreland county who received her BFA in Studio Art from Seton Hill University.  In addition to painting, sculpting, and video she also uses music, writing, and cooking to express herself.  A violinist since the age of six, Meg delights in learning new musical instruments.  In her repertoire are violin, guitar, banjo, piano, and ukelele.  In the rest of her free time she enjoys writing, exploring foreign languages, and creating new vegan recipes in the kitchen.
