I describe my paintings, drawings, and drawing installations as hardedge, color fields with a digital twist exploring the language of geometric abstraction. I have always worked with abstract shapes/forms in observation of the world around me. The first thing you’ll notice is color.  I believe color has energy to communicate, and that humans have individual as well as universal connections to color. I’ve always been inspired by Pop/Op Art and the vivid color within my work is a direct result of that influence. I combine color theories, pop, the perceptual qualities of Op art, and the use of color combinations found in the commercial world to engage and dazzle viewers.

I combine hardedge techniques such as stenciling and printmaking methods with color field techniques along with digital alteration to investigate/advance the language of geometric abstraction. Starting with patterns functioning as an extension of popular culture which has a connection to economic, social, and ethnic identifiers. The digital representation of patterns transforms/breaks down/disrupts them to a generic universal theme. Initially, I appropriate image patterns from a variety of sources then reduce them via technology to a simple line drawing. Next, I overlay several images in order to disrupt their individual patterns and suggest one all-embracing digital design. These all-over compositions are a commentary on the world, as I see it, where everything is happening
